| On the
weekend of October 15, 2004 Robison Service participated in the
Springfield meet of the Rolls Royce Owners Club. Approximately 40
cars and their owners gathered on Saturday for a showing at the
Quadrangle museum grounds. On Sunday we traveled to the Kittredge
estate in Leverett for a lunch meet.
2004 marks the Centennial of Rolls Royce Motors. In addition, the Springfield meet was special because Springfield was the site of Rolls Royces American manufacturing operation in 1921, and Robison Service is currently located adjacent to the plant. The factory and Foreign Motors West provided three new 2005 Phantom cars. I drove them to our complex, which is at the edge of the original Rolls Royce plant in Springfield. We photographed the silver Phantom in front of the former employee entrance, where the Rolls Royce logo is faintly visible when the light is right. On both days we had a mix of postwar and modern Bentley and Rolls Royce cars. | ||||
